Have you ever wondered how the profiles of restaurants, cafes, bars and galleries show up on Google maps when you’re searching for an address? How did Google find the time and manpower to get every business name, address and phone number? Let alone all the photos!

Well, if you were thinking this was an impossible task, you’d be just about right. The truth is, these businesses provided Google with the information themselves! And to do it, they used a nifty little tool called Google My Business or GMB, as it’s often shortened too.

Put simply, GMB is a free tool that lets you manage how your business will appear on Google searches and maps. With it you can add contact details, opening hours, location and other super-useful information for your customers and potential customers.
